The Power Of Semantic
Semantic attribute integration is one of the key components that make our products so unique. Many people ask us why semantic is so important and what can it do for us?
Semantic data is a crucial element that not only makes recommendations better and more precise, but can guarantee you security features that pure transactional behavior cannot. Below are some concrete customer examples of why semantic understanding is so important.
Security
Depending on your domain of activity, the products you show to your visitors must match some well defined constraints. Take for example our customer Bridgestone Tyres. When you show tyres to a user, the system must not only match the tyre size (i.e: 175 R 15), but must also make sure the load (i.e: 77) and speed (i.e: H) both match. However, a system must be capable of showing "better" tyres if it finds tyres that overcome those constraints. Below you will find an example where a user is looking for a 177R15 77 H tyre, and where Prediggo proposed one exactly matching tyre (the Pirellli one) and a better one (the Continental one).
Quality
The quality of recommendations is essential. We know that users will buy more if we propose them products that match their purchase interest.
